Fourteen Luxurious Beach front Villas were built twenty plus years ago. A few of these Villas were acquired by the developer and the broker of the Sapphire Beach Club resort. These Villas were privately owned and managed. The resort once was the most upscale on the island. Queen of the Netherlands occupied two adjacent Villas when she visited the island a few years ago.

I happened to be on the island in 2013 and fell in love with one of these Villas.  It was spectacular: rare Ocean front location right on the beach, the generous 2,400 sq. ft. size, the proximity to all major attractions, the swimming pool on the terrace, the privacy --- it had it all.

It takes just 10 sec to get to the beach. The entrance is under Villa 5 (with oval opening). The brown stairs lead to the beach, the showers are on both sides of the entrance. You don’t really need to stay at the beach after you swim, but return to the privacy of the Villa and relax on the terrace on lounge chairs sipping cocktails, sun bathing, and refreshing in all new swimming pool, sized for a few laps.

A very unique feature of this property is that you can’t be seen from the beach or the adjacent Villas when you are outside on the terrace. The occasional high speed catamarans don’t get close to the land either. Not only that you have spectacular views from all the rooms, but also you enjoy the full privacy.

The stairs will lead you to 2 almost identical bedrooms ( king bed and chair-sleeper in one and two twin  beds in the other one)  with en suite bathrooms, flat screen smart  TVs, executive desks, over sized closets, and access to the balcony with stunning unobstructed views of the Caribbean and the island of Saba. Twin beds can be converted to a king bed, making it an ideal getaway for two couples.  The sectional sofa sleeper in the living room can comfortably sleep 2 people and can also be converted to a king size bed,  making it an appealing accommodation for a family of 6-7.  The full bathroom on the ground floor and the big closet provide the convenience to the bigger group.

Soak up the tropical sun while relaxing on comfy lounge chaises on the Villa's private terrace. If you grow warm go for a dip in a fresh water pool right there. Enjoy morning coffee or a light alfresco meal at the cozy outdoor cafe table while looking out at the sea views from the covered portion of the patio.

Villa Moderna is privately owned and operated, however all the amenities of the Beach Club are available, including the activities desk with concierge, Olympic size pool with an island and gardens, car rental desk.
